Co-Founder, Communications Officer (September 2020 – Present)

Activism Always, (Remote) Bay Area, CA

  • Leading a student-founded startup; organizing projects and communications campaigns as part of leadership team
  • Organizing and managing programing for student interns and supporters
  • Designing workshop content around social media literacy, data ethics, and social media analytics for mission-driven creators
  • Responsible for company’s social media and marketing communications, including social media copy, website, and blog content

Founded as a student initiative in 2020, Activism Always uplifts communities through social media insights. Responding to a lack of data management talent in the social impact and nonprofit sectors, Activism Always provides powerful social media listening technology for organizations to tap into their data – no technical experience needed.

Research Analyst – Data Innovation Studio (June 2021 – December 2021)

ParsonsTKO, (Remote) Washington, DC

  • Lead development of PTKO’s flagship research initiative, the PTKO Data Innovation Studio
  • Created a model and framework for Studio “studies,” including 2 studies on Content Impact and Data Ethics
  • Developed and nurtured over 100 relationships related to the Studio, using tools such as HubSpot
  • Scheduled and led over 30 virtual interviews related to the Studio
  • Worked closely with marketing team to assist on PTKO and PTKO Studio’s digital marketing (LinkedIn, email) efforts, including writing social media copy, designing social graphics, and social interactives
  • Organized and presented at 3 webinars, including partnering with LA Tech4Good in the first nonprofit edition of their Equity + Ethics in Data Workshop

Data Entity Development Research Fellow (October 2020 – June 2021)

Cal Poly Data SRI: Entity Committee, (Remote) San Luis Obispo, CA

  • Collected quantitative and qualitative data about data education entities in the US and abroad for operational development for Cal Poly’s Data Science and Analytics Initiative
  • Organized findings into written reports and presentations with actionable recommendations and next steps for research

Motel Management Assistant (September 2018 – May 2019)

  • Organized the motel’s data into various files and spreadsheets, providing weekly reports on guest updates

Undergraduate Research Assistant (September 2020 – Present)

Cal Poly College of Liberal Arts, San Luis Obispo, CA

  • Undergraduate research with Dr. Aubrie S. Adams on helicopter parenting and media communications.
  • Research accepted for presentation at the Western States Communication Association Conference (2022), Top Four Paper Panel for the Media Studies division (“Cultivating Problematic Stereotypes of Asian Americans: Representations of Helicopter Parenting in Fresh off the Boat”)

Vice President (June 2020 – June 2021)

Lambda Pi Eta (SLO Chapter), San Luis Obispo, CA

  • Provided operational support to the LPH leadership board through leading meetings, creating membership and department-wide emails, and advising LPH event planning
  • Organized and led LPH’s Winter 2021 annual philanthropic campaign (LPH Book Drive), collecting over 300+ book donations for 3 local schools over a span of 3 weeks (https://comsclubcalpoly.wixsite.com/official/lphbookdrive)
  • Responsible for developing materials and designating tasks for LPH members and leadership board during the LPH Book Drive, including a public Amazon Wish List and webpage

National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei, Taiwan) and National Chi-Nan University (Puli, Taiwan)

Part of 2018 Cal Poly Global in Taiwan program. Received credits in NR 360 – Ethnicity and the Land and NR 323 – Human Dimensions in Natural Resources Management. Program led by Dr. Yiwen Chiu.

Worked directly with local nonprofits and NGOs, national research institutes, and universities to learn about interdisciplinary project management (within the scope of natural resource management, tourism, sustainability, and public policy/education).
